Frank J. Beltran

Frank Beltran began practicing law in 1976 as an associate in the litigation, corporate and banking divisions of Alston, Miller & Gaines, now known as Alston & Bird. Frank established his own firm in 1982, and his expertise has been recognized and sought after from that time to the present.

Frank Beltran no longer maintains a full-time law practice; however, he is available for his expertise in limited matters or consults.

Each year since 1982, Frank has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of AV and from 1994 to present, he has been included in Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. From 1995 to present, Frank has also been listed among Best Lawyers in America (Legal Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs) and was selected their 2016 “Lawyer of the Year” for Legal Malpractice Law in Atlanta. Frank has also been included on each year’s Georgia Super Lawyers (Professional Liability – Defense) list since its initial publication in 2004.

Frank often speaks at continuing legal education seminars on the topics of legal malpractice, ethics and professionalism.

Brian R. Smith

Brian R. Smith, PC of The Smith Law Practice has been a member of The Beltran Firm team since 2011. Brian earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University with a double major in politics and European history and received a JD from The University of Georgia Law School, graduating cum laude. While in law school, he served as a summer clerk for Judge Richard W. Story of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He also gained considerable trial experience while working for the law school’s Legal Aid and Public Defender Clinic. Janet Litt

Janet Litt, Attorney at Law, earned her BS magna cum laude from Indiana University and her JD from American University Washington College of Law in 1981. She collaborates with numerous attorneys in a variety of complex litigation cases including The Beltran Firm team. In 1993, Janet was selected as the vice president and GA State Counsel for a regional title insurance company. In 1995, she became a partner in a commercial and residential real estate law firm, where she handled complex real estate transactions and litigation for 10 years. After her role as general counsel for a community bank, Janet became the Head of Litigation for Campbell & Brannon, where she worked from 2008–2013. In 2013, she left to form her own firm, Janet Litt, LLC, where she has since worked as a solo practitioner, focusing on real estate transactions and litigation and continuing her role as lead counsel and as an expert in intricate litigation and fiduciary issues.

Carol F. Beltran

Carol F. Beltran, Business Manager, joined The Beltran Firm in 1984. Prior to joining the firm, she was an Assistant Vice President in Commercial Lending for a predecessor of Bank of America. Carol graduated cum laude from The University of Georgia with a BS in speech communications.
